How to Overcome Laziness

Laziness is staying idle without doing anything when the things need to be done. Being lazy sometimes make you feel relaxed and happy. But long time laziness weakens oneself. There are many chances to lose confidence and will power by being idle. There will be unwanted thoughts rolling in the mind of a lazy person, which is really harmful. When you feel lazy to do your things, follow these simple steps to come out from that.

  • Check what is holding you back: Sometimes laziness is caused if you are tired, lost interest in something or when there is a long work. Figure out what is making you lose interest.
  • Break down the tasks: It is always boring to do the same task over a long period. Break down the tasks into smaller ones, it makes you feel comfortable.
  • Set goals: Geared up and start thinking about your future. Set special goals for yourself and make a list of the things to be done to achieve them.
  • Be self-motivated: The only one who suffers because of laziness is you. You need to pop up with extreme motivation. Walk around, exercise, meditate, listen to music to get peace of mind.
  • Take your time and take action: A sudden change never stays for a longer time. Take your time in thinking about the problems and solutions. Then be ready for the action.

How to Maintain Professional Relationships

"The most important thing in communication is hearing what isn’t said." Peter Drucker

A relationship we have at work are really important for building a satisfactory career. One can't maintain a healthy relationship at work unless they are ready to understand, listen and respect co-workers and communicate openly with them. Networking is very much needed in a long career. Meeting new people, building relationship with them and moving ahead together is what makes you the best person at work.

Why to maintain professional relationships?

It is not that all of us work with the same people forever. While working for each other we need to have a healthy atmosphere with positive interactions. This makes everyone happier and also helps in productive output. You never feel your working place is boring, in fact you start enjoying your profession when you keep good professional relationships. Here is a list of things you need to take care in order to be a pro in maintaining professional relationships with your fellow beings.

  • Trust your people: Trust is the most basic thing you need to have on your colleagues or people in your network. Be open and honest to discuss anything with them.
  • Quick check-ins: Though it is hard for keeping in touch with everyone every day, keep a reminder to reconnect on your calendar on a weekly or monthly basis. Just say hello and ask how they are doing, this helps in having them forever.
  • Provide professional leads: When someone needs a work to be done by a professional, try referring someone from your own network.

Meet in person. Meet people often for coffee  or lunch. Try inviting them for any occasions at home or outside.

Overcoming Fear of Abandonment

Having fear of abandonment is one of the most common problems in youngsters today. Over possessiveness and attractions may lead to this phobia. Having a feel of getting abandoned in a relationship may lead to a breakup in the relationship. It not just hurts you, it may also affect your partner and increase the gap between you both. Here are few simple tips to lose the fear of abandonment.

  1. Have trust in each other: A good relationship can happen only with trust. The situations may not be same as you think or see. Have trust on your partner and be patient enough to know the facts.
  2. Avoid assuming: Never assume something about your relationship on your own. Talk to your partner and share your feelings. All your doubts may get cleared when you share.
  3. Never generalize: Everyone is not same. Don't think whatever happened in your friends’ relationship will happen in your life too.
  4. Cope up with your emotions: Emotions are common but you can always control them. Don’t get excited too much. Be practical in emotions.
  5. Never expect too much: Expecting too much always hurts. Be normal and think even your partner is a human being and even he loves and trusts you as you do. he never wishes to leave you. And don’t make him lose his feelings for you.

Learn To Say 'No'

Straight trees are always chosen first for cutting! Always keep in mind this thought. If you stay too easy and available for others, people won't take any kind of hesitation to take you for granted.

Coming straight to the point, you must be facing situations in which you want to say a NO to the person but just because of some RESPECT you have from them, you do the work. It's good. But it is completely unacceptable if you always do their work, in spite of your shoulders being heavy with loads of work.

The very easy way to say no is to avoid running about the bush and just say NO with keen politeness. Let this be understood with a simple consideration. You have a report to make for an event and also a submission to be handed over the next day. There appears some neighbor of yours from nowhere asking you for help. He needs you to go right to the station to fetch a ticket for him. You respect him and you usually go for him but this time, your responsibilities have been burdening you. Here is what you can say: "I am really sorry, but I really have much stuff to do and I need to complete this and submit by tomorrow by hook or by crook. So I won't be able to help you. If you neighbor understands you and is quite ethical, he will appreciate your honesty and will have no issues.

When you say a no, you need not worry what the other person might think. It is OK to say no only and only if it is considerable. If you lie on a cozy couch all day and give a straight no to your mom who needs help, that can prove to be a complete piffle.

It's good to help, it is better to help many-times but not at all appreciable if you make yourself available by compelling yourself. This will evoke nothing but frustration in yourself. Always keep this in mind: When you are saying a YES to others, make sure you are not saying a NO to yourself!

How To Become The LION Of The Jungle

Lion the leader of the jungle. Everyone wishes to be the LION of his group. Everyone wants to be the leader and lead the group. And by being a leader, that person wants to REIGN the group. If it is so, that person doesn't know the meaning of leadership and needs to go through this article.

A leader is a person who represents the group on behalf of all the team members. We all know that a leader must be cool, calm, a good listener and everything. It is very quite true. If a person just throws ideas and orders on his members, he is not called a leader. Not to forget that he is also just a member, just that he has more responsibilities than other people and he needs to manage all those responsibilities. Describing him in one word, he is the manager of the group.

Being a leader, first of all, you must take views from every member. You merge all the decisions and make the final decision by contributing some modifications on your basis.

Whenever a problem arises, it is you who need to keep calm first. Distribute the load of various people and not just randomly. A good leader knows his members quite well. so distribute loads on appropriate person. Like for example, if any report is to be prepared, you can hand it to a person good at writing content, and not to someone who is in marketing section.

Inevitably, your group will face successes and failures. It is to the entire group that the result belongs, whether a success or a failure. A leader doesn't grab away success all by himself.

To be a good leader, think of yourself as a tree and your members as your branches. If you will grow, so will your branches. When you will fall, so will your branches. And without branches, you are worthless!

Being Positive

To develop an enormous structure, you need to have a strong foundation. Similarly, to have a dynamic personality, you need to have an optimistic mind. It is quite difficult, you must be thinking. No, not actually. Being positive is not that rocket science.

Whenever you go through any situation, you just have to look at the positive side of it. No, it is not possible that so the situation can only have a negative side. Think! Everything has a positive and a negative side as well. You have to focus on the positive side only. By this, you will not only have control over your mind but also control over your work. Whatever you will do, you will always have that smile on your face. And any person who does his work happily, it contributes towards his journey of his personality.

Mannerism

Armani suit, silk tie, shoes of woodland and a dynamic style; you see a person who symbolizes himself as a complete gentleman and just the other moment, you watch him spitting tobacco just beside the red carpet. You will turn your face from him the very next second. What made that person look low in your eyes? Manners, right?

Manners are the salt of one’s personality. Just as the presence of salt is never noticed but its absence can be felt clearly, in a similar way, manners hide behind in personality but the moment they fade away from a personality, its absence can be seen clearly.

Talking with respect to others, to walk with discipline, to have proper body language, all these small things merge up to form manners in a body. You cannot say one’s personality is fully developed if that person runs low on manners. In fact, it is the most basic thing if you want to build up your personality. Whatever you do, wherever you go and whatsoever time it may be, make sure that to throw that charm of your personality on others, thereby flattering them, you need to carry some manners, 'coz manners in a man make him a 'gentleman’!

Determined Aim

A man with dignified personality always has an aim to be achieved. He knows the ethics in order to achieve what he has aimed for.

In order to achieve your aim, you need to first find out your interest. Know the subject in which you are interested. It is our true being that helps us achieve the goal. When you know in what you are interested, make that your aim. When you will work for it, you will have passion too. And when passion meets determination, there comes a masterpiece.

Speech

If you are very well dressed and also have the charisma but not communication skill up to the mark, it may leave a blot on your personality.

When you speak to the other person, make sure you look confident in what you speak and hold the intensity in your voice. If you speak in a dull voice, the person opposite may lose interest in the conversation. What language you speak doesn't matter. What matters is how clearly you speak. Pronounce every word clearly so that it is audible.

Cling on to your fluency. Be smooth and be calm in the speech you deliver. No need to rush. Always let your mind lead your tongue. Take regular pauses in between. And emphasize on respective words that you need to highlight in your speech.Whenever you stop while speaking, replace words like 'ummm’ and 'aaaa' by your silence.

Optimism

What adds the most to your personality is your perception towards people, towards life. That can be achieved through positivity, better known as optimism. It is very well said by Sandeep Maheshwari that many people mistake positivity as having good expectations and high hopes for any event that is to take place. Optimism is not that you give an exam and sit back, hoping for a good result.

But if you face any problem in life, and if you take it as a challenge rather than sitting there in the corner. crving about it is called optimism. If you work day and night for something, regardless of the result and of the name and fame you will achieve from it, that is optimism. Thinking positively means to be brave and happy enough to convert any difficulty into an opportunity. For instance, if you are told to speak up in front of a crowd, think that it is an opportunity to develop yourself and express your skill.

If said in a nutshell, optimism means finding the good in the bad. Everything possesses something good in itself. ltjust needs that optimistic perception. Whatever happens is always for some good.

Tips On Being A Gentleman

What really does it mean to be a gentleman? Of course, it has evolved from the old meaning which was just for members of the gentry. However, some of the things that defined them are still a part of what defines a gentleman. It is a way of life and not something you turn on and off like a switch. Being a refined man rotates around a single word: regard. It's regard for yourself and those around you. Imbibe the following simple tips to enhance your personal and professional life.

1) Create your own fashion identity:

The word "gentleman" usually evokes images of a man wearing a suit and a tie. This is a throwback to the old days. But, the word now has more definition. It is not just a specific manner of dressing but a cultured manner accompanied by a well put-together ensemble.

A combination of dresses that can be uniquely yours but still not be trashy. For instance, a look at the Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka would show he has a preference for shirts, a waistcoat, and sandals. It is his unique style and is combined with being cultured.

2) Watch your language:

No matter how good you look, or how well dressed you are, it is all a waste if you do not watch what you say and how you say things.

Swearing is a huge no-no in both your professional and personal life. Even when you are angry or distressed, there are better ways of communicating this without having to swear.

So, work on your diction and cut out the swearing.

3) Be hygienic:

Apart from dressing good, dress clean. Your body and what clothes you wear must be clean at all times. This staves off body odor and also makes you eye-catching. The scruffy look has its place but you should endeavor to remain well groomed.

4) Be deliberate and decisive:

Not making a decision is a decision in itself, and it's not a good one! If you desire to be respected, you must be seen to know what you want. Making decisions on what you want and don’t, is very important. It lets people where you stand on particular issues. Know how to say "no” and stick to it.

Don't be that over-commit, under deliver kind of

5) Be a man of your word:

A gentleman always respects other people's time but most importantly means what he says. If you say you are going to meet someone, don't be late. If you have said that you would help someone, keep your promise. These small things matter. They engender trust, respect and, in some cases, love.

6) Be polite and humble:

Raising your voice doesn’t sound manly, it sounds rude. It does not even mean your point is better or would be accepted. Be polite to everyone irrespective of their gender, age, and status. Do not let your ego rule your life or relationship with people. Remain polite and see how this would endear you to those around you.

Respect is a two-way street that is built on humility and being polite.

7) Hold the door:

This is a very old practice but also a subtle way of showing good manners. Holding the door open for people is a gentleman’s calling card.

8) Be and do you:

In this tech-driven world, it has become easy to create separate personas of yourself online. But the best bet is to remain true to yourself all the time.

Being yourself is what makes you unique; it is why you are you and no one else can be you better than you. The flaws you find irritating might be what someone else or others find endearing and, for them, sets you apart from everyone else.

Being at ease with yourself is the true sign of a gentleman. They don't lie or mislead. They try to make everyone comfortable around them. Always remember that being a gentleman never goes out of style.

Knowing Yourself Is The Beginning Of Wisdom

Knowing yourself is the first step towards enlightenment. it is important. Knowing yourself lets you live as you would love to. You know who you are, what you want, can separate your dreams from those put on you by others. Above all, you would be in tune with yourself and your decisions.
This is not an easy state to achieve. It takes patience and many other things. I will share a few ways you can get on and hopefully stay on the path to knowing yourself. Things like looking at clues from your daily life.
For ease, I have created a mnemonic of the tips that would aid you in this journey: VITALS standing for Values, Interests, Temperament, Around the clock, Life mission and Skills and strengths. Let's have a look-

.Values

The foremost thing to do is to look for the values that define you. Empathy, creativity, etc. To be in tune with yourself, you need to find your basic principles. Those things that make your you. They usually are things you do with ease and have no problem coming to terms with.

.Interests

Discover the things that interest you. Find out what your passions and hobbies are. What grabs your attention? Find it them. For this, you have to ask yourself questions. Maybe take down notes even.

. Temperament

This, as used here, is to describe where you fall on the social ladder. Are you an introvert? Extrovert? On what basis do you make your decisions? Logic or emotions? Knowing these would help you avoid situations where you would not flourish or would feel uncomfortable.

. Around-the-clock activities

It includes the kind of things you like to do daily. Are you a morning person? What kind of breakfast do you like? Whether you like being punctual or not. These things help you know you and also be able to tell people what lines you would rather they do not cross.

. Life mission and meaningful goals

Another important thing to discover about yourself is related to your goals. Realize what you actually want to become. A friend of mine was motivated by the social works and charity she saw and decided to run an NGO for old and senior people. Life is incomplete without goals and one must discover clues to your hidden identity and to your career. It is, however, important to note that having a goal now does not mean you can't change it. It really is your life. Do not constrict yourself.

. Strengths

It includes both your talents, skills and core skills like love and respect for others, intelligence etc. Knowing your strengths is one of the foundations of self-confidence. Not only strengths but one must also try to discover one's weaknesses.

Hence if you know the VITALS of your life, you can work towards improving your shortcomings. The more you are aware of yourself, the lesser will be your inner conflicts because your outer actions will start working as per your inner feelings and values. When you know yourself, you will be able to make better decisions.

Differences Between Friendship And Love

At what point does a mere friendship diverge from a romantic one? How is love different from friendship? How can you know what used to be a friendship for you is slowly becoming more than just that? What are the signs to look out for? There is a thin line and there is a chance you might miss it.
Many of us confuse a very deep friendship with love and that's where all the problem starts. So how do you know whether it's just friendship or more than that? Let's see.

. The strength of the emotion:

Love is like a force of nature. Wars have even being started because of it. Really. Most often than not, it creeps up on you. You do not see it happening until you are totally captivated. In a friendship, you find it easy to turn off and on your emotions. The person you are in love is always on your mind. This cannot be said of someone who is just a friend. You do not stay up at night thinking on friends like you do the person you are in love with.

. Friends with all, in love with one:

Friends can be myriad. Can even be collected. classified into function or use like best friend, SOS friend etc. However, you don't fall in love with a myriad of people. You fall for one person. The one person who just seems to always get your heart going pitter-patter. Most times you think you are in love with more than one person, you usually are just being selfish.

. Love always hurts, friendship rarely does:

When love ends for whatever reason, it hurts. It causes a pain akin to losing a loved one. Even when it  has not ended, fights hurt way more than a yelling match with friends. It's a fact that people who matter to us have the power to hurt us the most.

. The compromise line:

All relationships have limits. All. However, limits differ. The point however differ per relationship. You can go to almost any length for that one person, lengths you would not go for friends and vice versa. How far you can go is determined by the love.

. Love can be one-sided while friendship is mutual:

You can love someone and it's not necessary for the other person to love you back. But a friendship is always mutual, and if you are falling in love with your best friend then beware because you might get your heart broken. The thing is when you are in love, even the slightest of gestures fool you to think that the other person is also in love but that might not be true so before ruining your friendship make sure you are completely aware of the other person's feeling.

. Love demands effort friendship never does:

Many people say that love is difficult. Why? Because it takes effort, you have to sacrifice, compromise, respect the other person to keep a relationship working but friendship is effortless.

The expectations from friends are minimal or none. You have your own life, your friends have their own but the lives of two people in love are entwined, anything significant you do will have an effect on your love life.
